University Academic Buildings

These three buildings for a university based near Ngong were finished to a Western standard in accordance with the organization’s expectations. A classroom building has a wooden ceiling and roof supported by laminated beams and trusses, while a kitchen building has an exposed roof structure built with aluminum trusses. High traffic internal areas used granito tile while outdoor areas used rough cut mazeras. Walls and cladding featured local area shale and stone so that the buildings would blend in with the arid environment. Rainwater from all three buildings is collected into an underground 900,000 liter reservoir, the top of which is used as a meeting and dining area for students.
