Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens

The Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens received a complete overhaul, with both renovated areas and new buildings. A Dubai-based design team was behind the new kitchen and restaurant, with five separate guest areas. For events a glass atrium was added, with a show kitchen for cooking classes or event buffet. The new buildings accommodated the staff quarters, rooms for visiting chefs, storage facilities, a director’s apartment, a garage, laundry facilities, an employee canteen, and an underground water tank for rainwater collection. The historic Grogan House was renovated to have offices, a conference room, and a shop.
